Parameters

Canta must be set according to your sound card and the MIDI devices installed on your machine. This setting can be accessed through the "Param" button and is automatically launched on the first use of Canta or when the software detects a change in the configuration of your PC.

The following dialog box is displayed :

  • Microphone: to select the microphone if you have more than one
  • FréFrequency: selection of the sampling frequency of the microphone
  • MIDI Device: selecting a device for playing MIDI files

To do:

1 - Select the microphone or the sound card on which the microphone is connected, if you have more than one installed on your machine. If your machine has a single sound card with a single microphone input, there was nothing to do, go to the next item.

2 - Select the sampling frequency. If you have a powerful machine, take the maximum frequency for a better resolution of the analysis the sung notes. If you find that your machine has trouble, that the operation appears chopped, reduce the frequency until you find the value that gives the best compromise.

3 - Select the MIDI device if there are several displayed. The choice of device affects only the musical quality of the played music. It is possible that some displayed devices produce no sound when Canta plays a MIDI file, in this case simply choose another device in the list.

4 - Click on the "OK" button
